Abstract
521,731. Alloys ; annealing. MALLORY METALLURGICAL PRODUCTS, Ltd. (Mallory & Co., Inc., P. R.). Nov. 25, 1938, No. 34434. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Copper alloys, particularly for welding electrodes, electric contacts and other electrical purposes, contain 0À25 - 2 5 per cent. of beryllium, 0À4 - 2À5 per cent. of cobalt or nickel or both, and 0 05 - 2 per cent. of silicon, with or without one or more of the elements zinc, tin, calcium, lithium, magnesium, phosphorus, silver, zirconium and titanium. Manganese is absent, or is present only as an impurity to less than 0À1 per cent. The heat - treatment may comprise quenching from over 700‹C., e.g., 750- 1000‹C. and ageing at less than 700‹C., e.g., 350-470‹C.
