537,496. Lubricating. NOHAB FLYGMOTORFABRIKER AKTIEBOLAG. Feb. 5, 1940, No. 2237. Convention date, Feb. 2. 1939. [Class 7 (ii)] In a revolving-cylinder engine with a stationary valve ring 21 controlling inlet and exhaust, the contact surface between the ring 21 and shoes 20 on the cylinders is lubricated by an independent system supplying just sufficient oil through pipes 25 to several points around the ring, the oil being disposed of by burning or blowing out through the exhaust ports. The oil may be distributed to the pipes 25 by a rotary valve 26. Oil supplied to a bore 36 in the crank shaft passes through branched passages 37, 38, the former conducting on to passages 45, and the latter to passages 40, 44 which spray oil upon the gearing 10 between the crank shaft and propeller. Oil collecting in the crank casing escapes at 32 and thrown off by a rim 34 into a collecting-trough.
