536,904. Aeroplanes with rotary-wing systems. ALVISTUR, O., and KEHOE, J. C. Dec. 29,1939, No. 33050. [Class 4] An aeroplane has forward propelling means and a vertical shaft 8 capable of being driven and provided with a pair of blades 17, 18 of unequal length, the blades being adjustable about an axis at right-angles to the shaft 8, and the longer blade being adapted to be locked between pins 31 actuated from the cockpit. The blades 17, 18 are adjusted about an horizontal axis by connecting-rods pivoted to crank discs on their inner ends and to a ball engaged in the spherical end of a rod which passes through the shaft 8 and is operated by the pilot.
