Abstract
505,346. Aircraft driving gear. BARBAROU, M. J.-B. Oct. 20, 1938, No. 30426. Convention date, March 23. [Class 4] Coaxial airscrews adapted to be driven in opposite directions have a bearing substantially in the plane of rotation of the rear airscrew, of which the hub 21 is a hollow cylinder disposed about a forward extension 22 of the engine casing 23. Bearings 17 and 19 carry the rear airscrew shaft 15, the bearing 17 being substantially in the plane of rotation of the rear airscrew. The shaft 15 has at its front end a bearing 25 for the front airscrew shaft 9, which is supported at its rear end by the bearing 18.
