Abstract

550,117. Propeller blades. KLOEPFER, R. W. Oct. 31, 1941. No. 14061. [Class 114] In a propeller of the kind in which two pairs of blades 15, 17 and 14, 16 rotate in parallel planes, the rear blades, 15, 17 being in advance, in the direction of rotation of the propeller, of the forward blades 14, 16 each blade is secured to a boss 12 on the common hub 10 to permit of angular adjustment to vary the pitch, by means of a shank having a serrated shoulder 23 to engage one serrated end 24 of the boss 12, and provided with a serrated washer 26 to engage the other serrated end 28 of the boss, the whole being secured together by a nut 29 on the threaded end of the shank.
