[Class 114] A marine variable-pitch propeller has the hub provided with end walls 5, 6 connected to the bearing surfaces supporting the blade roots, these walls directly contacting the propeller shaft 17. The blades are adjusted by turning the sleeve 62 through the action of the steep pitch thread 66. The blades are retained by the plates 34, 35 which are elongated in the direction of the shaft axis.
