581,158. Variable - pitch propellers. ESCHER WYSS MASCHINENFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. April 26, 1945, No. 10508. Convention date, April 27, 1944. [Class 114] A variable-pitch propeller for ships, aircraft and centrifugal machines is provided with cranks 5, integral with their correlated blade roots 2, for changing the pitch of the blades. These cranks are inserted into an unsplit hub 3 through openings having two or more recesses 8 extending radially outwards. Projections 6 on the roots corresponding to the recesses in the hub are passed through these recesses and the blade root turned until the projections bear on the inner surface of the hub.
