456,407. Screw propellers. DOBOS, I., 3, Manyoki ut, Budapest. March 17, 1936, No. 8041. Convention date, March 23, 1935. [Class 114] In variable-pitch screw propellers the boss is formed in two parts 2, 3, in which are mounted sleeves 5 secured to the roots of the blades 6. These sleeves 5 are continued longitudinally as plates 7 containing an inclined slot 15. Within the slot is mounted a pin 13 secured to a member 10 which is adjustable longitudinally along the boss extension 8 by means such as a ring 16 and a free encircling collar 21. Movement of member 10 results in the pin turning the lever 7 and so setting the blades to a new pitch. The ring is mounted on balls 17 disposed in grooves 18 in the shaft 1, the balls being adjustably mounted in studs 19.
