Abstract

323,677. Checkley, G. Feb. 19, 1929. Screw propellers. - In arrangements wherein screw propellers are placed in echelon along the shaft, the main propeller 7 is disposed between front and rear auxiliary propellers 6, 8. The front propeller has a lesser number of blades than the rear propeller and may be of smaller diameter. The propellers are disposed on the shaft at distances depending upon collars 19, 20 and are held by end collars 16, 17. The shaft 5 is described as being of any form of cross-section and the bosses are bored to suit.
