Planes, arrangement of.-An aircraft having similarly rotating propellers c, d not on the centre line, has those rear fins e, f that lie in the slipstreams from these propellers arranged to converge forwardly towards a point on one side of the centre line of the machine and in front of the propellers. If the fins are in the upper halves of the slip streams the fins converge towards that side of the machine to which the propeller blades move in the lower halves of their revolution. Where engines are used above and below the centre line of the machine the convergence of the elevators and tail planes is similarly determined. The distance of the line of convergence in front of the propellers varies with the distance of the fins and propellers from the centre line.
