Abstract

516,013. Aeroplanes. DORNIER - WERKE GES., and DORNIER, C. June 17, 1938, No. 18076. Convention date, July 24, 1937. [Class 4] , An aircraft is propelled by motors 20, 21 mounted within the fuselage 10 and driving, by means of shafts 22, 24, tractor and pusher airscrews 23, 18, the latter being located behind the tail unit. The motors are arranged so that the crew, navigating instruments &c. are accommodated between them. Lateral control is effected by a pair of tail fins 14, 16 and rudders 15, 17. The'fin 16 acts as a shroud for the means supporting the tail wheel 19 from the fuselage. The airscrews may be rotated by means of blowers driven by the motors. Where more than one fuselage is used a driving plant similar to that described is provided in each fuselage.
