536,592. Water-tube steam boilers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. (Bailey, E. G.). Nov. 18, 1939, No. 30346. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 64 (iii) and 123 (ii)] A boiler tube through which a mixture of steam and water flows is formed with a number of shallow helical grooves on its inner surface to maintain a suitable quantity of water on the wall of the tube. The grooves are rectangular in cross-section and have a pitch of 60 degrees. The grooves in adjacent lengths of horizontal tubes connected in series are oppositely inclined. Specification 503,775 is referred to.
