723,742. Waste-heat steam boilers; superheaters; economizers. VORKAUF, H. April 14, 1953 [April 17, 1952], No. 9708/52. Classes 64 (1), 123 (2) and 123 (3). In a waste-heat steam boiler, the steamgenerating surface is formed of parallel-spaced tube panels 3, 4, Fig. 1, each composed of closely pitched tubes, and the boiler casing is provided with openings 5, 5 to enable mechanical cleaning tools to be inserted into the spaces between adjacent panels. The individual tubes of a panel may be welded together at certain points, and the upper and lower tubes 8, 9 thereof are preferably formed as panel supporting tubes. As shown in Fig. 4, the panels are spaced by bands of U-shaped tubes 6 disposed at right angles thereto or, alternatively, by single tubes 7 of larger diameter. The invention is also applicable to superheaters and economizers.
