Abstract
535,071. Centrifugal pumps. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Sept. 26, 1939, No. 26691. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1938. [Class 110 (i)] In a liquid ring pump, the pump chamber is divided into several compartments 15 by partitions 12, 13 arranged at right angles to the rotor axis, each compartment having at least one inlet port 9 and one outlet port 10, all the inlet ports opening into a common inlet passage 6, and all the ports 10 into a common delivery passage 7. The partitions 12, 13 may be carried by the rotor or pump casing, or partly by each. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts comprises also a form in which the member containing the common inlet and outlet passages has another passage and pipe through which liquid to form the liquid ring may be introduced, and the casing has an upward extension whereby the pump may be supported. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
