Abstract

566,472. Centrifugal pumps. DAMONTE, J. P. Aug. 31, 1943, No. 14234. [Class 110 (i)] A helico-centrifugal pump comprises an outer hemispherical &c. casing 10 with an axial inlet 11, an inner rotor 15 carrying on the outer surface helical vanes 60 and on the inner surface similar vanes 65, the interior of the rotor being divided by a partition 25 into suction and pressure compartments 24, 31 communicating by a port in the partition. A ring 51 screwed into the inner rotor carries vanes 66 for drawing priming fluid from a tube 20 on the closure plate 16 into compartment 24; whence it passes through a part into compartment 31, and is there forced by vanes 65 through a port 41 in the inner rotor into pump chamber 12, where it mixes with the main fluid from 11 and is discharged into the main delivery tube 61 on the plate 16.
