Abstract

1,049,979. Priming centrifugal pumps. COVENTRY CLIMAX ENGINES Ltd. Nov. 2, 1965 [Dec. 21, 1964], No. 51858/64. Heading F1C. In a centrifugal pump having a priming port 4 in the wall of the inlet duct 3, a baffle in the form of an axially extending vane 5 is provided alongside the port to prevent water in the duct from rotating and forming a layer over the port which prevents withdrawal of air through the port during priming.
