[Class 37] A U-shaped current core for induction measuring apparatus has a magnetic shunt so arranged that both the total flux and also the shunted flux are each conducted through at least one air gap. On each polar surface of the current core 1 there is fixed with the interposition of a non-magnetic plate, a pole extension plate 2, 3 by means of screws 4. The plates 2, 3 project laterally beyond the polar surfaces of the core 1 and have each a projection 5, 6, the edges 7, 8 of which are at such a distance apart that no appreciable flux passes between them. Between the projections 5, 6 is fixed a shunt plate 9 by brass rivets 11, a brass plate 10 being interposed between the shunt plate 9 and the plates 2, 3. The part of the shunt plate 9 between the edges 7, 8 becomes saturated at high loads and may be provided with one or more holes 12 for exact adjustment of the saturation relation in the shunt.
