Abstract

424,876. Supply meters. COOP, N. B., and BRITISH ELECTRIC METERS, Ltd., Morden Road, Mitcham, Surrey. Oct. 3, 1934, No. 28284. [Class 37] The poles of the series magnet 2 of an induction meter are provided with a laterallydisposed magnetic bridge 4 lying substantially in the plane of the pole faces, from which it is separated by strips of brass 5 or other non- magnetic material, the bridge being adjustable in a direction parallel to a line joining the centres of the pole faces. In the construction shown, the bridge is carried by a slidable member 6 mounted on the meter frame or on the series magnet. The bridge is provided with slots 6<a>, 6<b>, engaging fixing screws 8, 9, and with a rack 6<c> which co-operates with an adjusting pinion 10. The arrangement improves the error-load curves at low and high loads.
