Abstract
340,891. Supply meters. LANDIS ET GYR SOC. ANON., 1, Hofstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. Mar. 27, 1930, No. 9801. Convention date, April 11, 1929. [Class 37.] In order to compensate an induction motor meter for temperature errors throughout a large range of power-factor, the poles of the driving- magnet core are provided with sheet metal extensions which increase the acting surfaces of the poles and are composed partly of iron and partly of thermally sensitive alloy. The driving magnet shown consists of a three-pronged voltage core 1 and a two-pronged current magnet 2. Pieces of sheet metal 4, 5 are fixed to the current poles by means of screws 6 screwed into plates 7 fitted into slots in the core. The parts 4 are of iron and the parts 5 are of nickel-copper or other alloy of which the permeability decreases with rise of temperature. The parts 4, 5 may be in the same plane and joined by welding or soldering, or one part may engage beneath the other and may be joined thereto by welding or riveting. The parts may alternatively be connected by non-magnetic straps employing riveting, or dovetail mortising of their opposing front edges.
