Abstract
518,569. Electric supply meters. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. June 29, 1938, No. 19333. Convention date, July 20, 1937, [Class 37] In Ferraris meters temperature compensation is effected by means of a bi-metal strip, which, with variations in temperature, alters a strayflux air-gap close to a short circuited ring through which the voltage flux passes. A magnetic return member 5 screwed at 1 to the voltage core 4 is bent at right angles near its lower end to form the counterpole extending between the poles of the current core 9. The short circuited ring 10 is located on the member 5 adjacent the bend thereof and rests on the edges of an aperture in a magnetic angle piece 12 screwed at 11 to member 5. A magnetic bimetal strip 14 is screwed at 15 to the return member 5 and, at its lower end, separated therefrom by the air gap 18 which increases as the temperature rises and thereby reduces the reactance of the ring 10.
