Abstract

531,006. Dynamometers. HEENAN & FROUDE, Ltd., & WALKER, G. H. July 8, 1939, No. 19914. [Class 106 (ii)] In apparatus in which a swinging carcase A is prevented from rotating under torque reaction by being connected by an arm B to weighing apparatus D balancing the force due to torque, the weighing apparatus is connected to the arm through a spring or resilient link E and a dashpot F to smooth out vibrations of the carcase and fluctuations of the force and prevent them affecting the indicating piston of the weighing apparatus. A further dashpot G affixed to the carcase A damps other vibrations of a pulsating nature. The application to a carcase connected to the weighing apparatus through lever systems and to such machines adapted to measure in either direction of rotation is described.
