867,309. Testing dynamometers. TRIANGLE PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 25, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 30815/58. Class 106 (2). A device for testing the accuracy of a vehiclebrake tester of the type having two rollers 2, 3 driven at the same speed and used to support the wheel being tested, comprises a member 9 extending radially from the axis of one roller 2, and movable with the roller, means 16, 18 operating to offer a known resistance to the movement of the member 9, and means 11 indicating when it is in a predetermined angular position. To check the brake-tester an arm 9 is attached to the roller 2 and is connected by a cable 16 passing over a pulley 14 to a known weight 18. A spirit level 11 indicates when the arm 9 is vertical and the pulley 14 may be adjusted in height so that the maximum turning moment is exerted bv the cable 16 on the arm 9. The torque exerted is then compared with the value indicated by the brake-tester and any required adjustments thereto are made.
