701,323. Testing fabrics. ALBICO PRECISION ENGINEERING, Ltd., and FIDELITY MACHINE CO., Inc. Jan. 8, 1951, No. 477/51. Class 42 (2) A calibrator for a testing device as described in U.S.A. Specification 2,117,402, in which knitted fabric is held between gripping means and stretched to a predetermined extent as indicated by a weight arm on a shaft having an abutment member contacting one of the slides, has a support 50 adapted to be mounted on one gripping means, or a slide 6 thereof, a member 58 being pivoted transversely on the support, carrying a weight arm 59 fast therewith and a connecting member 63 for connecting the pivoted member 58 to the other gripping means 22, 23, or the slide thereof. The arm 59 is provided with calibrations and a movable weight 60. On moving the slides apart, the load of the weight arm of the fabric testing device may be balanced against that of the calibrator. A clamp 68 carrying an inclined arm 67 with a rest for the arm 59 may be attached to the slide 6.
