Abstract

530,993. Regulating compressors. HEYWOOD, C. F. July 5, 1939, No. 19597. [Class 8 (i)] The output of a compressor is maintained constant at varying altitudes by use of an auxiliary compressor, such as a radial vane rotary pump 5 which delivers through a pipe 9 to the compressor inlet at high altitudes, while at lower levels the delivery is byepassed through an outlet 11 to cool the compressor. The byepass is controlled by a valve actuated manually or automatically in accordance with atmospheric pressure. Specification 520,703 is referred to.
