[Class 110 (i)] The supply of compressed air to the air-bell of a deepwell centrifugal pump is controlled by a float actuated valve 5. An aperture 12 enables the water in the annular passage 13 between the bell 3 and the discharge passage 9 to circulate by convection. The motor 2 may be placed below the pump 1.
