Abstract
530,126. Gyratory crushers. ANNESLEY, G. June 15, 1939, No. 17510. [Class 59] In a gyratory crusher wherein the crusher shaft eccentric is mounted by anti-friction bearings in a bush or housing 19 of the casing the eccentric 17, 17a has end portions reduced in diameter to accommodate upper and lower roller or ball bearings 20, 21 of which the outer races project beyond the eccentric into snug engagement with the bush or housing. The thicker portion of the eccentric may be made hollow and, if necessary, charged with lead &c. 22 for balancing purposes. The eccentric is retained in the housing by a ring nut 23 with an integral lubricant seal, the lower end of the eccentric being closed by a plug 27 and fitted with a pulley 24 to be driven from the pulley 25a of an electric motor 25 mounted in a bracket 26 in the casing 1. The lower end of the crusher shaft 5 is journalled in the bore of the eccentric through a self-aligning roller or ball bearing 18 ; or, as when the shaft is arranged to yield downwardly to pass an uncrushable object through the crusher, this bearing may be of the heavy needle or parallel roller type. As shown in Fig. 1, the concave 7 can, under strain, move vertically against the action of springs 12. The upper end of the housing 19 is closed by a flexible seal 28.
