Abstract

1,140,799. Gyratory crushers. ALLISCHALMERS MFG. CO. 17 March, 1967 [28 March, 1966], No. 12695/67. Heading B2A. A spiderless gryatory crusher comprises a non-gyratory post 20, vertically-slidable in a stationary hub 12 mounted on a frame 10, and a step bearing assembly 34, 36, between an upper part of the post and a head 40. A gyratory drive member or eccentric 45 between the head 40 and the hub 12 imparts gyratory motion to the head. A fluid lubrication chamber 29 is provided between the crusher post and the hub with means to convey lubricant from the chamber to the step-bearing. The lower end of the post 20 is secured to a piston 22 which is fitted in a cylinder 23 having a head 24 and hydraulic-fluid inlet 25. In operation, lubricant is pumped through a bore 30 into the chamber 28 and thence through a tube 29 to lubricate the step bearing assembly. The lubricant also flows over bushings 48, 49 which contact the eccentric 45. The fluid collects in chamber 56 and lubricates the ring gear and pinion 46, 51. Excess lubricant may be collected or recirculated. Hydraulic fluid, via inlet 25 raises the piston 22 and hence the head 40 into position for crushing. Ingress of dirt is prevented by a ring 57 operating in a groove 59.
