[Class 59] In gyratory crushing machine in which the shaft 1 carrying the crushing head is surrounded by a sleeve 4 having part-spherical protuberances engaging a socket 5 in an eccentric sleeve 6 driven by a surrounding pulley 9, there is provided beneath the lower end of the shaft 1 a chamber 11 supplied with lubricant under pressure which is forced upwards between the shaft and the sleeve 4 to an annular chamber 21, thence downwardly around the eccentric element 6 and finally upwardly through the pulley bearings 8 and the bearing sleeve 10 to a chamber 24 connected to a return pipe 25. The oil is supplied by a pump through a pipe 13 delivering to a tube 15 non-rotatably mounted in an extension 16 of the pulley base 36, this tube being connected to the chamber 11 by a rotating tube 20 extending upwardly through a double driving- dog member 39. The latter is formed on its lower and upper faces with recesses 38, 40 in which engage dogs projecting upwardly from the pulley base 36 and downwardly from the eccentric element 6 respectively. The extension 16 is grooved externally at 17 to serve as a pulley which drives the oil-circulating pump through belts 18. Any oil escaping upwardly around the shaft 1 from the chamber 21 is delivered to the return pipe 25 by a branch 34. A modification is described in which a threerotor oil pump is secured directly to the underside of the pulley base 36.
