Abstract

Crushers with gyratory heads.-The gyratory shaft b of a gyratory crushing-apparatus or other mechanism is provided at one end with an inverted cup or socket a which forms a housing for an eccentric spherical bearing c rotatably mounted on the stationary support d and surrounded by a sleeve e enclosed in a liner f attached to the cup a. The sleeve c is preferably made in two parts, and the sleeve e and bearing d are formed with complementary recesses e<1>, c<1> in which is placed a ball g of such a size as to permit of the oscillatory motion. A wheel h<2> on the driving-shaft h<1> gears with a wheel h which is integral with the bearing c and is seated on a washer j disposed on an annular supporting-part k of the base-plate l. Lubricant delivered to the upper end of the bearing c by a pipe p from a supply pipe n, extending up through the hollow support d and connected to a pump &c., flows over all the bearing-surfaces enclosed by the cup a and collects in a well q whence it is returned by a pipe r to the pump &c. The liner may be longitudinally movable on the sleeve to effect vertical adjustment of the shaft relatively to the bearing.
