Abstract

628,203. Flexible shafts. TRIGGS, W. W. (Food Machinery Corporation). Sept. 4, 1947, No. 24400. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] In a meshing-screw pump the rotor 35 is driven from a shaft 22 by means of a flexible shaft 40 comprising a heavy steel cable 44, secured to steel heads 42, the cable and portion of the heads being covered with rubber bonded to the metal parts. A ring 26, tapered internally, prevents undue whipping.
