530,049. Treating ores. UDDEHOLMS AKTIEBOLAG. June 2, 1939. No. 16261. Convention date, June 4, 1938. [Class 82 (i)] Arsenic, phosphorus and antimony are removed from ores containing manganese or iron by submitting the crushed ore to reduction with solid carbonaceous reducing agents at 500-1100‹C., with or without the introduction of steam, whereby the manganese and iron are not reduced while compounds of arsenic, phosphorus and antimony are reduced and the arsenic &c. liberated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers to the use of gaseous reducing agents. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
