Abstract
526,562. Control of D.C. motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 20, 1939, No. 8860. Convention date, March 22, 1938. [Class 38 (iii)] In a Ward-Leonard system employing an idle running machine D in shunt with the generator field winding Fg, acceleration and retardation curves b, v are shaped as in Fig. 2 by coupling a regulating machine R to the machine D and feeding it with a voltage proportional to the speed of the controlled motor Am. The field winding Fr and an auxiliary " self-excited field Fd1 of the machine D are fed through rectifiers from the same voltage.
