Abstract
681,316. Control of A.C. motors. CANADIAN CONTROLLERS, Ltd., and GREPE, F. Y. July 3, 1950, No. 16544/50. Class 38 (iii) Automatic compenstain of dynamic braking of a wound rotor induction motor having its stator energised with D.C. for braking purposes is provided by rectifying the voltage across the rotor resistance and feeding it back to the stator. As shown the motor 2 is energised through forward or reverse contractors 4, 5 for normal running, and sections of the rotor resistance are shorted out by contactors 1A-4A. For dynamic braking the stator is D.C. energised from a rectifier 12 through contactor 16 and compenstation is provided by a rectifier 10 fed from tappings on the rotor resistance to provide a substantially flat braking characteristic.
