540,633. Dynamo-electric braking. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., BENNS, H. V., and GREGORY, J. P. Aug. 2, 1940, No. 12504. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (iii)] Relates to means for braking A.C. motors by plugging and employing a relay provided with two coils responsive to variations in the voltage of the primary and secondary of the motor to interrupt the reverse power connection when the motor reaches approximately zero speed such as is described in Specification 522,632. According to the present Specification, the coils of the relay are responsive respectively to the voltage supplied to the primary winding and to the current in the primary or secondary winding of the motor. The current for the relay may be obtained from a current transformer. Specification 540,632 is referred to.
