Abstract

523,879. Grinding-wheels. FLETCHER, J. H., MITCHELL'S EMERY WHEEL CO., Ltd., ANDERSON. D. M., and GEAR GRINDING CO., Ltd. Feb. 13, 1939, No. 4599. [Class 60] Integral grinding-wheels have a series of spaced recesses so formed in the peripheral grinding surfaces that the edges thereof constitute continually renewed cutting-edges. They also serve to conduct coolant to the point of grinding and to carry away the scrap. For these purposes the wheel is formed with transverse radial slots 13, Fig. 1, and these slots may be parallel to the axis, or may be arranged at an angle or helically. Specifications 14502/06 and 28276/12, [both in Class 60], are referred to.
