Abstract

470,320. Grinding - wheels. NORTON GRINDING WHEEL CO., Ltd. (Norton Co.) Dec. 15, 1936, No. 34415. [Class 60] A thin grinding-wheel comprises a metal disc 10 having formed in its periphery, by sawing, grinding, splitting, &c., a groove 12, the walls 13 of which are bent outwardly to allow the introduction of an abrasive annulus 15 over the periphery of the disc. The walls 13 are then rolled or swaged down into contact with the side faces of the annulus 15. In a modification, Fig. 6, the abrasive annulus 16 has a part 17 of reduced thickness, the part 16 being slightly thicker than the disc 18.
