Abstract
523,800. Current measurements. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 14, 1939, No. 1317. Convention date, Jan. 14, 1938. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXV] Relates to an arrangement for obtaining a current in an A.C. circuit U proportional to the current in a D.C. circuit 3, comprising an inductance 4 having cores 1, 2, the conductor 3 acting as a premagnetizing winding for the cores, and consists in the provision of a further winding 7 which is supplied with a direct current proportional to the A.C. in the circuit U and is arranged to oppose the action of the conductor 3 to increase the operative range of the arrangement. In the' form shown the winding 7 and load 6 are supplied from a rectifier bridge 5 connected in series in the circuit U. In a modification two or more inductances may be used and connected in parallel in the A.C. circuit, the windings 7 being connected in series and supplied from a rectifier bridge in the common A..C. circuit. Alternatively each winding 7 may be supplied separately from a rectifier bridge in series in its appropriate inductance circuit. Specification 514,890 is referred to.
