637,210. Transformers and inductances. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1947, No. 35198. Convention date, June 21, 1941. [Class 38 (ii)] An electrical transformer or inductance has a voltage winding 6 insulated from a core 1 by insulating members 7, 8 which pass around the winding and are secured to the outer columns 3, 4 of the core so that the distance b between the winding and core, measured along the insulating elements, is greater than the shortest distance a therebetween. The winding is thus " in suspension " around the primary winding 5 and both windings are thus secured to the same core. Excessive electrostatic stresses in the insulating elements are consequently avoided.
