[Class 27] A prepayment mechanism a for the supply of gas, water &c. of the type furnished with a timecontrolled valve, is fitted at its outlet with a plug adapter e to receive a readily removable plug f connected to a gas &c. using device, such as a fire, cooker, iron &c. The inlet connection to the mechanism may also be by adapter and plug, or may comprise a screw socket &c. b<SP>3</SP>. A manually operated valve c provides for cutting- off the supply when desired, the valve actuating a detent or brake to stop the time mechanism when the valve is closed. The mechanism may also collect a rental payment. Specifications 441,337, [Group XXVIII], and 476,995, are referred to.
