Abstract
521,686. Automatic-feed weighers. THOMAS, C. W., and RUDDICK, H. G. Nov. 2, 1938, No. 6479/40. Divided out of 521,642. [Class 143] In an automatic weighing apparatus the material is fed to the weigh pan by upper and lower oscillating trays 3, 4, Fig. 1, supplying the coarse and fine feeds respectively and provided with an intermediate shoot 28 leaving a gap 30 which determines the size or amount of material which can be allowed to pass along the lower tray to the delivery end. The material is introduced into a hopper 26 carried by the upper tray. The shoot 28 is adjustable to regulate the gap 30, and a slide 34 adjusts the size of the entrance to the shoot. In a modification, the gap 30 is regulated by an adjustable wedge 7, Fig. 2. A similar adjustable wedge 7a may be used to control the feed to the upper tray 3. Specification 521,642 is referred to.
