Abstract
520,463. Aero-engine mountings. GOHN, A. A. Oct. 31, 1938, No. 31466. [Class 4] The engine of an aircraft is mounted in a frame rockably connected with the aircraft and situated between the fuselage and wing. The engine 23, propeller 25 and shaft 24 are mounted in a frame 18 supported by links 11, 13 on a cradle 6 fixed to the fuselage 1. The wing 9 is carried above the cradle. When the aircraft is on the ground a lever 14 is adapted to swing the engine unit forward on the links 11, 13 until a stop 22 is engaged, whereupon the unit is locked by the links 15 passing a dead centre.
