Abstract
505,201. Aircraft structures. VICKERS (AVIATION), Ltd., and WALLIS, B. N. Nov. 6, 1937, No. 30482. [Class 4] An aircraft wing comprises a hollow cylindroid engine nacelle c of streamline form which is detachable from inboard and outboard wing portions a, b which are shaped to correspond with the nacelle. In the construction shown a stressed-skin nacelle c is threaded on the projecting ends of the upper and lower booms of the stub-wing spar e, to which the booms of the outer wing portion b are attached by serrated fish plates g bolted together on opposite sides of the booms. The nacelle is bolted to geodetic members on the wing portions.
