Abstract
518,691. Electric heating. PATENTVERWERTUNGS-GES. HERMES. Sept. 2, 1938. No. 25777. Convention date, Sept. 2, 1937. [Class 39 (iii)] In heating by means of a high frequency electric field, particularly for drying wood or paper, one electrode 3, Fig. 1, encloses the other electrode 2 or electrodes and the generator 1 of the high -frequency voltages. In a modification spherical electrodes are employed. The outer electrode may be apertured and in halves. Both electrodes may be wire lattices. In Fig. 3, electrode 3 encloses electrodes 2, 2<1> and the vacuum tube 1 to which the latter are connected. In Fig. 5 two generators are employed and a paper web passes continuously through the field over rollers 7, 8.
