[Class 37] In order to prevent breakdown at the ends of a wound type condenser of high voltage type the marginal regions of the dielectric D are strengthened by inserts R placed next the electrodes B and graded as regards width as shown, the condenser may then be pressed flat to the form shown in Fig. 6. Various arrangements are shown employing a greater number of inserts R graded in various directions. Specifications 642,267, 654,982 and 654,984 are referred to.
