Electric appliances. - In high-frequency thera-' peutic apparatus in which oscillations are produced by a spark gap with auxiliary ignition the spark gap is arranged in a glass bulb filled with nitrogen at a pressure of 400 to 700 mm. of mercury. Fig. 1 shows a spark gap 2 the middle electrode 1 of which is connected through condenser 5 and resistance 3 to the secondary 6 of the transformer 4. Low frequency treatment is provided by electrodes 9 and the energy at high frequency supplied to the circuit 14 is varied by adjustment of the coupling coil 12. The main electrodes 39 are preferably of copper coated with tungsten on the inner faces and the auxiliary electrode 40 is preferably constructed as a wire, network, or the like.
