513,862. Dyes ; coeruleln sulphonic acid derivatives. DURAND & HUGUENIN AKT.- GES. April 21, 1938, No. 11981. Convention date, April 21, 1937. [Class 2 (iii)] Coerulein sulphonic acids give addition products with salts of sulphurous acid which have improved tinctorial properties, e.g. when used with chromium mordants for dyeing silk or printing on cotton. The coerulein sulphonic acids may be prepared according to the processes of Specifications 251,968, [Class 2 (iii)], or 479,334. In an example, a precipitate of coerulein sulphonic acid is dissolved in an aqueous solution of sodium bisulphite and heated, when yellow-green crystals are obtained. The use of normal sodium sulphite and ammonium bisulphite is mentioned.
