Azo dyes, soluble chromium compounds of; regenerated celluloses, dyeing.--Fast green dyeings are obtained on regenerated cellulose silks by dyeing with the chromium compound of the azo dyestuff 5-nitro-2-aminophenol --> (acid) 2 : 5 : 7-aminonaphtholsulphonic acid. In an example viscose silk is entered at 20 DEG C. into a bath containing the dyestuff in aqueous solution, the temperature is raised in half an hour to 75-80 DEG C., Glauber salt is added, and dyeing is continued for three-quarters of an hour at the same temperature; the dyeings are a uniform green and fast to light. Specifications 253,659, 296,680, and 318,832, [all in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of the corresponding chromiferous dyestuffs in which the OH group in the coupling component is replaced by OR, R being a sulpho-aryl residue. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
