Abstract

522,240. Dyeing textiles. DURAND & HUGUENIN AKT.-GES. Jan. 6, 1939, No. 491. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1938. Addition to 511,424. [Class 15 (ii)] Printing.-In a modification of the process described in the parent Specification there is incorporated in the printing paste, in place of the salt of a lower fatty acid, a salt incapable of dissociating during steaming, preferably an alkali salt, of an isocyclic, heterocyclic or araliphatic carboxylic acid carrying no sulphonic acid group and no group tending in conjunction with the carboxylic acid group or with another substituent to form an internal complex salt with the chromium used as the mordant. The process may be applied in conjunction with the processes of Specifications 318,469, [Class 15 (ii)], and 427,058. In examples, aqueous pastes for use in printing on natural silk, regenerated cellulose artificial silk or cotton contain Chromocitronine R, urea, gum arabic, chromium acetate and (1) sodium benzoate, (2) sodium phenylacetate, (3) sodium m-hydroxybenzoate, (4) sodium p-aminobenzoate, (5) sodium 2:6-naphtholcarboxylate, (6) sodium pyromucate.
