513,314. Pivoting adjustments for camera stands &c. WHITEHEAD, H. March 5, 1938, No. 6943. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] An adjustable joint for the head of a camera stand &c. comprises a movable member A, C coupled to a relatively fixed member F, F<1> by a bolt &c. E. Enclosed in A by the cap C is a resilient insert M which may be distorted by a screwed rod &c. to vary the frictional pressure between the fixed and movable members. A lower coupling to allow the instrument to be turned through 360 degrees comprises a resilent brush M inside a sleeve A, and a screwed rod to distort the bush to vary its pressure on the underside of the tripod head.
