Abstract

276,844. Sellers, F. J. Oct. 4, 1926. Stands.-A stand for supporting telescopes &c. instruments, requiring adjustment in altitude and azimuth, comprises one or more telescopic legs A<1> corrected by a universal joint 4<4> to a head B<1> secured to or adapted to receive the instrument C, which is adjusted in azimuth by one or more legs B<2> rotatably mounted in the head B<1> and whose lower ends, which may carry rollers &c. roll on the ground. The instrument C is further attached to the stand by a member or members B<3> attached to the leg or leg B<2>. To; give finer adjustments in altitude the head B<1> may be attached to the leg or legs A' by a screw A<3>. The legs B<2> may be mounted so as to be angularly adjustable relatively to the instrument C.
